Parents Are Experts of Their Children

Parents are recognized as the experts of their own children. They receive support for their role and are provided with opportunities to share ideas and concerns.

1. Parents have an opportunity to network with other parents.
2. Parents are encouraged to participate in storytimes, playtimes and other library services for young children delivered through Children's Services.
3. Places in the library are created for parents to gather and talk.
4. Parents/caregivers are supported and encouraged to interact with their children by cuddling, talking, singing songs, sharing books, playing, looking and listening with their children.
5. Parents are recognized, supported and respected for their strengths.
