Supporting Parents & Caregivers to Enhance Early Learning Webcast

A key to engaging infants, toddlers and preschoolers in early learning is to effectively involve parents and caregivers. To do this it is important to establish supportive, trusting relationships.

Cindy Oser and Leticia Lara, consultants from Zero to Three, will lead this stimulating session that will:

  • Explain the rationale and key aspects needed to support families in an effective, collaborative manner;
  • Demonstrate practical approaches that contribute to constructive relationships and encourage parents' involvement in early learning;
  • Address actual issues faced by library staff that serve families such as the mother who is embarrassed by her toddler's behavior, the father who can't seem to engage in play with his son, and more; and
  • Provide useful suggestions that can be applied to your early learning services.

The session will be thought provoking and insightful with opportunities to reflect on aspects that each of us brings to our work with families.
